Frances D. Vukovich service set

Chesterton resident Frances D. (Susterich) Vukovich died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003 at Porter Memorial Hospital in Valparaiso. She was 83.

Born on Sept. 20, 1920 in Wierton, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna Louder Sindicich. On June 8, 1946 in Holy Trinity Church in East Chicago, she married Phillip L. Vukovich, DDS, who survives in Chesterton.

Also surviving are children Dr. Linda Vukovich of Palatine, Ill., Phillip Vukovich of Palatine, and Liane Franck (husband John) of Algonquin, Ill.; four grandchildren; sisters-in-law Dorothy Sindicich of Florida, Madge Sindicich of Munster, Frances Rubick (George) of Crown Point and Olga Vukovich of Highland; and brother-in-law Dr. John Vukovich (wife Dodie) of Munster.

She ws a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Chesterton. An avid reader, she formerly worked as a secretary for the East Chicago school system and in the metallurgical department at Inland Steel Co.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, Nov. 24, at 11 a.m. from St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Road, Chesterton. Cremation will follow at Calvary Crematory, Portage. The family will receive friends Monday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick School.
