Elaine Bernice McDonald dies at 77

Elaine Bernice McDonald, 77, of Portage died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003 at Porter Memorial Hospital, Valparaiso.

She was born Oct. 18, 1926 in Gary, the daughter of Carl and Hazel (Bourne) Helden, who preceded her in death.

She was married in Hayword, Wis. to James McDonald, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by 2 sons, Cary (Amy) McDonald of Mahonet, Ill. and James (Annette) McDonald of Portage; 2 daughters, Judy Beschinski and Cheri (Rick) Arzola, both of Valparaiso; 2 aunts, Marge Bourne and Emma Bourne, both of Ft. Wayne, 11 grandchildren and loving cousins.

She was a seamstress and was employed at Marc T. Neilsen Interior.

Funeral services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage. Interment will be at Chapel Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel.

Memorials may be made to Heart Association Memorial Program, Department 77-3968, Chicago, Ill 60678-3968.
