Edith A. Peterson dies at 90

Edith A. Peterson, of Chesterton, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003 at the waters of Duneland, Chesterton. She was 90.

She was born Sept. 8, 1913 in Chicago, the daughter of Adolph and Carolina (Ostlund) Lund, who preceded her in death.

On March 11, 1939, she married Andrew Yngve Peterson, who preceded her in death after 62 years of marriage.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Arline Colley of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Lois (Denis) Fancher-Wiesemann of Chesterton; 6 grandchildren, Denise Lange of Grand Rapids, Mich., Dean (Julie) Lange, Jr. of Lake Jackson, Texas, Vicki (Stan) Fancher-Keller of Porter, Glen (Shawna) Fancher of Loveland, Colo., Joe (Maggie) Colley of Petaluma, Calif. and David Colley of Indianapolis; 10 great-grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, 33 step-great-grandchildren; 5 step-great-great grandchildren; a brother, Martin (Eileen) Lund, of Bloomingdale, Ill. and a brother-in-law, Allan Peterson, of Sweden.

Edith was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Chesterton, where she worked as secretary. She was a member of Andree Lodge in Chicago and was a homemaker who loved to sew, paint and write poetry, some of which were published.

Funeral services, Pastor Ron Larson officiating, are scheduled at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 11 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2050 W. 1100N, Chesterton. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton and Thursday from Noon until time of service at the Church.

Memorials may be given to the Building Fund of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
