Douglas Williams dies at 70

Douglas Williams, of Westville, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003 at Porter Memorial Hospital, Valparaiso. He was 70.

He was born December 1, 1932 in Huntland, Tenn., the son of William Calvin and Annie Mae (Eddy) Williams, who preceded him in death.

On July 1, 1961 in Chicago, he married Barbara Van Dyke, who survives.

He is also survived by 6 children, William C. Williams of Westville, Becky M. Williams of Westville, Thomas A. (Nina) Williams of Lafayette, Tracy A. (Graham) Thomas of England, Darlene (Lou) Aigner of Frankfort, Ill., Debra (Matt) Beck of Thorton, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; a brother, William M. (Barbara) Williams of Chesterton, a sister, Sue (Joe) Keys of Aurora, Ill., a sister-in-law, Shirley Williams of Wisconsin and a brother-in-law, Harry Goode of Dolton, Ill.

He was also preceded in death by a brother Auburn and a sister, Marietta Goode.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Westville and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Funeral Services, Pastor David Graef officiating, are scheduled at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3 at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Newhard Funeral Home in Westville.
