HUDSON LAKE, Ind. (AP) — A garbage truck has become stuck under a rail
bridge in northern Indiana, disrupting South Shore commuter line service
between Michigan City and South Bend.
WSBT-TV reports the truck hit the trestle Thursday morning south of Hudson
Lake, about 15 miles west of South Bend.
Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District spokesman John Parsons
says he doesn't know how long train service in the area will be stopped.
He says the district plans to bus passengers from Michigan City and South
Bend until the tracks can be fixed.
Large equipment is needed to lift the bridge and repair the track.
