South Shore tells holiday train schedule

The South Shore commuter line will make it easy for folks to enjoy the holidays in Chicago by adding eastbound trains for the seasonís favorite events and by posting holiday train and ticket-office schedules in advance, the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) said.

Extra eastbound departures from Millennium Station (not serving Hudson Lake or South Bend):

* Wednesday, Nov. 23, departing at 2 p.m. (Van Buren Street at 2:03 p.m.), running non-stop to Hegewisch and making all local stops terminating in Michigan City.

* Saturday, Nov. 26, departing at 4:25 p.m. (Van Buren Street at 4:28 p.m.) running non-stop to Hegewisch and making all local stops terminating in Michigan City.

Train Schedule

* Thursday, Nov. 24 (Chicagoís Thanksgiving Parade): weekend/holiday schedule in observance of Thanksgiving Day.

* Friday, Nov. 25 (Black Friday): weekday schedule.

Ticket Office Schedule

If ticket office is closed please purchase from ticket vending machine (credit or debit only), themobile app, or on train (cash only).

* Monday-Wednesday, Nov: 21-23: ticket offices will observe normal hours.

* Thursday, Nov. 24 (Thanksgiving): all offices will be closed except Millennium Station and Van Buren Street

* Friday, Nov. 25 (Black Friday): ticket offices will observe normal hours.

* Saturday, Nov. 26: ticket offices at South Bend, Carroll Ave., East Chicago, Van Buren Street, and Millennium will be open.

* Sunday, Nov. 27: all offices will be closed except South Bend, Van Buren Street, and Millennium Station.

NICTD administrative offices in Chesterton and Michigan City will be closed Nov. 24-25 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
