INDOT’s proposal to
add travel lanes to I-65 between Ind. 2 and Ind. 10 has been opened to a
30-day public comment period, the Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning
Commission announced.
That period begins
today and ends on April 15.
Previously
approved: the addition of travel lanes to I-65 between Ind. 2 and U.S.
Highway 30. The proposed project area between Ind. 2 and Ind. 10 is the
subject of three separate documents: Amendment No. 2 to NIRPC’s 2040
Comprehensive Regional Plan Companion Update; Amendment No. 18 to the
2016-19 Transportation Improvement Plan; and new Air Quality Conformity
Analysis.
As part of the
public comment period, a public meeting will be held from 2 to 4 p.m.
Thursday, March 31, at the Lowell Public Library, 1505 E Commercial Ave. in
Lowell.

All comments
received during the 30-day public comment period will be compiled into a
