CHICAGO (AP) — Some unlikely visitors are expected at Chicago’s Shedd
Aquarium next week.
U.S. Navy divers will swim into the lakefront facility’s Caribbean Reef
exhibit on Tuesday with several planned dives throughout the day.
Organizers say the idea is to give visitors the opportunity to learn about
the Navy’s special operations group and everyday life in the Navy.
Saturday is the start of Chicago Navy Week, and events citywide have been
designed to overlap with the city’s large food festival, the Taste of
Chicago.
Other events for Navy Week include community service projects and
performances by the Navy Band. Several other cities nationwide will also
have a Navy Week this year. They include Detroit, New Orleans and Fargo,
N.D.
