Author seeking info on early aviation history of Porter County

Back To Front Page

An author working on a book about early aviation in Porter County is asking folks to share their artifacts and reminiscences.

Cinda Urschel is right now compiling information on aviation in the county from the 1920s to 50s, exclusive of the Porter County Regional Airport.

If you have photos, memorabilia, or stories, Urschel would like to hear from. If you know the exact location of any early airfield, drop her a line.

Time, she says, is of the essence.

“You may have one little gem of information that to you seems like nothing,” Urschel told the Chesterton Tribune. “Sometime those little bits of information can lead to so much more. There may be wonderful memories tucked away in attics or a closet.”
