NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PROPOSED SPECIAL EXCEPTION
Notice is hereby
given that the Board of Zoning Appeals of the County of Porter, Indiana,
will hold a public hearing on the 15th day of July, 2009, at 6:30 p.m., at
the Porter County Administration Center, 155 Indiana Avenue, Valparaiso,
Indiana, to consider the petition of Chicago SMSA Limited Partnership, dba
Verizon Wireless, 1515 Woodfield Rd., Schaumburg, Il, seeking a Special
Exception from Section 2.33 CH District Intent, Permitted Uses and Special
Exception Uses, Telecommunications Facility, to extend a current 130-foot
communications tower to 174 feet to add antennas and an equipment shelter,
to be located on the following described parcel of land:
A parcel of land
in the East Half of the West Half of Section 20, Township 35 North, Range 6
West of the Second Principal Meridian, in Porter County, Indiana, bounded
and described as follows: Commencing at the Northwest corner of the
Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 20; thence South
00 degrees 6 minutes 38 seconds East, being an assumed bearing on the West
line of said East Half of the West Half of Section 20, a distance of 1127.74
feet to the centerline of Joliet Road (also known as Old (I.S. Highway
Number 30); thence Northeasterly along the centerline of said Joliet Road,
being a curved line concave to the South having a radius of 1273.3 feet for
an arc distance of 392.18 feet with a chord bearing of North 78 degrees 10
minutes 45 seconds East and a chord distance of 390.63 feet; thence South 10
degrees 49 minutes 23 seconds West, a distance of 437.38 feet to the
Northerly right of way line of new U.S. Highway Number 30 for a point of
beginning; thence Northwesterly along said Northerly right of way line,
being a curved line concave to the South having a radius of 7414.355 feet
for and arc distance of 304.8 feet with a chord bearing of North 79 degrees
28 minutes 19 seconds West and a chord distance of 304.78 feet to the West
line of the East Half of the West Half of said Section 20; thence North 00
degrees 6 minutes 38 seconds West on said West line of the East Half of the
West Half, a distance of 130.0 feet; thence North 89 degrees 15 minutes 31
seconds East, a distance of 336.26 feet to a point bearing North 10 degrees
49 minutes 23 seconds East and a distance of 193.48 feet from the point of
beginning; thence South 10 degrees 40 minutes 23 seconds West, a distance of
193.48 feet to the point of beginning.
GENERAL LOCATION:
A parcel of land located at 368 W. Joliet Rd., in Union Township, Porter
County, Indiana.
Written
suggestions to said proposed zoning amendment may be filed with the
Executive Director of the Porter County Plan Commission before such public
hearing and/or verbal statements relating thereto will be heard at the above
designated time and place. A copy of the file is available for public view
at the Plan Commission office.
