NOTICE REQUEST FOR
QUALIFICATIONS
Notice is hereby
given that the Porter County Board of Commissioners has determined that
consultant services are required for engineering design and plan preparation
for the reconstruction of the Calumet Trail.
Calumet Trail
The Calumet Trail
is an existing limestone trail that is 9.1 miles in length. The trail is
located within the boundaries of the Dunes National Lakeshore and runs
parallel with U.S. Hwy 12 and the NICTD South Shore Railroad. The western
terminus of the trail is Mineral Springs Road and the eastern terminus is
the La Porte - Porter County Line.
The
reconstruction of the Calumet Trail will start at Mineral Springs Road and
head east. The project will be done in phases and phase one will end at
Kemil Road for the engineering design. The design will be for an asphalt
trail where the existing limestone trail currently runs. The plan
preparation shall meet AASHTO design guidelines for the development of
bicycle and pedestrian facilities. Porter County has been awarded two
Transportation Enhancement Grants (TE) for the construction of the Calumet
Trail; and plan preparation must be accepted by INDOT.
Qualification
Submittal
Qualifications
shall contain as a minimum the following and shall not exceed twenty (20)
pages:
1. Contact
information. Name, address, and phone number of the consulting firm. Web
address also if available;
2. Form of
organization. Whether firm is a partnership, corporation, or sole
proprietorship, where it is organized, and names of principals, officers,
and directors of the firm;
3. Key personnel.
Names of key personnel, their respective titles, experience, and periods of
service with the firm, this shall include staffing for the proposed service;
4. Statement of
qualifications. A narrative or other statement by the firm of its
qualifications for the proposed services;
5. Availability.
A brief statement of the availability of key personnel of the firm to
undertake the proposed service;
6. Project list.
List of similar services provided by the firm;
Information
regarding costs of services is not being requested at this time, the Board
of Commissioners may request such information if firm is chosen for an
interview. The Board of County Commissioners may elect to interview said
firms or may select to enter contract negotiations with a firm based on
qualifications submitted.
Qualifications
for services will be accepted at the Porter County Auditor’s Office until
12:00 p.m. CST June 21, 2011. Please submit four (4) copies of the
