An application to
request a development
standards
variance from the requirements of Town of Porter Zoning Ordinance has been
filed by J&L Bell Ltd, LLC.
Notice is hereby
given that the Porter Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a public hearing in
the
Porter Town Hall,
303 Franklin Street, at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, to consider
the application
filed. The application is requesting a development standards variance for
gravel parking in lieu of Portland Cement or asphalt from the requirements
of the Zoning Ordinance as they affect the area bounded by Conrail on the
North, Woodlawn Avenue on the South and 15th Street on the West (Northeast
corner of Woodlawn and 15th South of Conrail) consisting of 4.1 acres,
located and legally described as follows:
ALL THAT PART OF
THE NORTHEAST 1/4 OF SECTION 35, TOWNSHIP 37 NORTH, RANGE 6 WEST OF THE
SECOND PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, PORTER COUNTY, INDIANA, MORE PARTICULARLY
DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
COMMENCING AT THE
INTERSECTION OF THE EAST LINE OF THE NORTHEAST 1/4 AND INDIAN BOUNDARY LINE;
THENCE NORTH 00° 00 00 EAST ALONG THE EAST LINE OF THE NORTHEAST 1/4,
455.65 FEET TO THE SOUTHEASTERLY RIGHT OF WAY OF MICHIGAN CENTRAL RAILROAD,
WHICH HAS BEEN CONVEYED TO CONSOLIDATED RAIL CORPORATION; THENCE SOUTH 53°
53 48 WEST ALONG SAID RIGHT OF WAY LINE, 382.23 FEET TO THE POINT OF
BEGINNING; THENCE SOUTH 53° 53 48 WEST
ALONG SAID RIGHT
OF WAY LINE, 1,135.76 FEET; TO THE EAST LINE OF 15TH STREET; THENCE SOUTH
06° 13 41 EAST, ALONG SAID EAST LINE, 172.99 FEET; THENCE NORTH 53° 53
48 EAST, 1,221.93 FEET; THENCE NORTH 36° 06 12 WEST, 150.00 FEET; TO THE
POINT OF BEGINNING. CONTAINING 4.1 ACRES AND SUBJECT TO ALL LEGAL HIGHWAYS
AND EASEMENTS.
Anyone interested
in the application may appear in person or by agent at the public hearing.
Written
objections filed with the Board of Zoning Appeals Secretary before the
hearing will be considered. The hearing may be continued from time to time
as may be found necessary. All information concerning such application is on
file in the Clerk-Treasurers Office, 303 Franklin Street, Porter, Indiana,
46304, for public examination.
