NOTICE OF PUBLIC
HEARING PROPOSED
DEVELOPMENT
STANDARD VARIANCE
Notice is hereby
given that the Board of Zoning Appeals of the County of Porter, Indiana,
will hold a public hearing on the 15th of June, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the
Porter County Administration Center, 155 Indiana Avenue, Suite 205,
Valparaiso, Indiana, to consider the petition of The Salvation Army, seeking
Development Standard Variances from the Unified Development Ordinance, to
waive the following Sections: 5.46 Sign; General, E-1: Signs that utilize
any motion picture, laser or visual projection of images or copy, Section
5.49 Sign; Office and Institutional, D ii: Maximum height Eight (8) feet,
and no part of a ground sign shall be more than ten (10) feet above ground
level, and to increase maximum footage area from forty-six (46) square feet
to eighty (80) square feet, all in order to construct a Digital LED sign,
located on the following described parcel of land:
Lots 1, 2, 3, 4,
5, 7, 8, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33 and 34 in Block 6 in St. Michael
American Russian Orphan Home and Institution Subdivision, as per plat
thereof, recorded in Miscellaneous Record “N”, page 184, in the Office of
the Recorder of Porter County, Indiana.
Subject to: (1)
Real estate taxes for 1994 due and payable in 1995, and thereafter, if any.
(2) Covenants, restrictions and easements of record.
GENERAL LOCATION:
A parcel of land located at 799 Capital Road, in Portage Township, Porter
County, Indiana.
Written
suggestions to said proposed Variance may be filed with the Executive
Director of the Porter County Plan Commission before such public hearing
and/or verbal statements relating thereto will be heard at the
above-designated time and place. A copy of the file is available for public
view at the Plan Commission office.
