NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

BEFORE THE CHESTERTON ADVISORY PLAN COMMISSION

Notice is hereby given that the Chesterton Advisory Plan Commission will hold a public hearing at the Chesterton Town Hall, 726 Broadway, Chesterton, Indiana 46304, on the 19th day of May, 2011, at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the agenda for the Plan Commission may permit, to consider a change to the Chesterton Zoning Map. The geographic area which is the subject of the zoning map changes is as follows:

Parcel A: A parcel of land in the Southeast Quarter of Section 19, Township 37 North, Range 5 West of the 2nd P.M. Beginning at a point which is 622.3 feet West and 750 feet South of the Northeast corner of the Southeast Quarter of Section 19, Township 37 North, Range 5 West of the 2nd P.M. , and running thence South parallel with the East line of the Southeast Quarter, a distance of 200 feet; thence East parallel to said North line of said Southeast Quarter, a distance of 122.3 feet; thence North parallel to said East line, a distance of 200 feet; thence West parallel to said North line, a distance of 122.3 feet to the point of beginning, containing .5615 acres, more or less.

Parcel B: A parcel of land with a North boundary and a South boundary of 122.3 feet and an East boundary and a West boundary of 200 feet adjacent and contiguous to the West boundary of Parcel (A) described above.

Both of the above-described parcels are a part of Deed Record 307, page 195, recorded in the Office of the Recorder of Porter County, Indiana and are located in the Southeast Quarter of Section 19, Township 37 North, Range 5 West, all in Porter County, Indiana; which property is commonly known as 190 East Mekelane Lane, Chesterton, Indiana.

The property is currently zoned B-3. It is proposed that the property be zoned R-1, and the purpose of this public hearing is for the Plan Commission to make its recommendation to the Chesterton Town Council concerning the zoning for this property. Accordingly, the change in the zoning map will be the change of zoning for the above-described real estate to the zoning of R-1.

A copy of the proposal, which is in the form of an Ordinance, is on file for examination at the Office of the Chesterton Clerk-Treasurer, Chesterton Town Hall, 726 Broadway, Chesterton, Indiana 46304, before the hearing. Written objections to the proposal that are filed with the Secretary of the Chesterton Advisory Plan Commission before the hearing will be considered. All comments concerning the proposal will be heard. The hearing may be continued from time to time as may be found necessary. The hearing will begin at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the agenda for the Chesterton Advisory Plan Commission will permit.
