NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF DECLARATORY RESOLUTION AND PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Chesterton Redevelopment Commission (the “Commission”) of the Town of Chesterton, Indiana (the “Town”), will conduct a public hearing on March 28, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. at the Chesterton Town Hall, located at 726 Broadway, Chesterton, Indiana 46304, to consider Declaratory Resolution 2011-03 (the "Declaratory Resolution") adopted by the Commission on January 24, 2011, and as approved by the Chesterton Advisory Plan Commission on February 17, 2011, and as approved by the Town Council on February 28, 2011, which amends Declaratory Resolution No. 01-2000 and the Plan for the Chesterton Economic Development Area (the “Economic Development Area”). The Declaratory Resolution has been prepared by the Commission pursuant to Indiana Code 36-7-14-15 and Indiana Code 36-7-14-41 for approval upon a public hearing and adoption of a confirmatory resolution thereby.

The maps and plats of the Economic Development Area have been prepared and can be inspected at the offices of the Commission, located at 726 Broadway, Chesterton, Indiana 46304 during regular business hours. The proposed amendment to the Plan may also be inspected at the same location.

During the public hearing portion of the meeting, the Commission will receive and hear comments, remonstrances and objections, written or oral, from persons interested in or affected by the proceedings pertaining to actions to be taken under the Declaratory Resolution and will determine the public utility and benefit of the proposed actions. Written comments, remonstrances and objections may be filed with the Commission care of Gayle Polakowski, Secretary of the Commission, 726 Broadway, Chesterton, Indiana 46304, until March 25, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. (CST). All written comments, remonstrances and objections will be dated and time stamped at such time of filing. At the public hearing, the Commission shall consider only those written statements that were filed in a timely manner.
