NOTICE TO BIDDERS
TOWN OF PORTER
Sealed BIDS for
the Town of Porter 2011 Six Box Lane Lift Station Replacement Project will
be received by the Town of Porter at the office of the Clerk Treasurer, 303
Franklin St., Porter, IN 46304, until 2:00 p.m., prevailing time, on March
21st, 2011. Bids may be delivered or mailed to be read aloud during a
special meeting on March 21st, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. prevailing time. Project
may be awarded at a meeting of the Town Council at the same address on March
22nd, 2011 at 7 p.m. A pre-bid meeting will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011
at 9:00 a.m. at Town Hall.
The contract
documents, including specifications can be obtained at the office of
Duneland Group, Inc., located at 1498 Pope Court in Chesterton, IN 46304.
Proposals must be
submitted on the proposal form included in the Contract documents. Proposals
shall include a fully executed copy of Indiana Standard Form 96, which the
contractor shall provide. Furthermore, proposals shall include the
Contractor’s Statement of Non-Discrimination.
Proposals shall
be accompanied by a certified check or Bank Draft payable to the Town of
Porter or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and a surety
company in an amount equal to 10% of the Bid as a guarantee that the bidder,
if the bid is accepted, will execute and file the proposed Contract and
Bonds within ten days after the award of the Contract. The certified Check
or Bank Draft will be returned to the bidders immediately after the signing
of the Contract by the Town.
A Performance
Bond in the amount of 125% of the total Contract price will be required of
the successful bidder. In addition, a Labor and Material Payment bond in the
sum of not less than 100% of the total Contract amount will also be required
of the successful bidder as well as a two (2) year Guaranty (Maintenance)
Bond in the amount of 20% of the final contract amount.
The Town of
Porter reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any
informalities in bidding, and to award a Contract in the best interests of
the Town. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the date set
for the opening thereof.
It is
contemplated that, upon opening, bids will be referred to Town of Porter
Staff for review with the awarding of the bids to take place at a later
meeting.
