Notice of Public Hearings on

NICTD Proposed Fare Increase

The Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) will hold a series of public hearings to gather comment on a proposed fare increase of 2% effective June 2010 and 2% effective June 2011 for the South Shore Line rail passenger service. This fare increase applies to all stations but Hegewisch. We are also proposing changes in our family fare policy.

The general public may comment in person at the public hearing or mail their comments to the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District, 33 East U.S. Highway 12, Chesterton, Indiana 46304. Comments must be received by NICTD on or before March 18, 2010. A complete list of proposed fares and policy changes is available at all manned stations and on NICTD’s website www.nictd.com
