INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says Indiana
residents won’t need a license to go fishing in Indiana waters this weekend.
The Free Fishing Weekend is held each year to introduce or reacquaint
Indiana residents to fishing. Recreation areas across the state are planning
fishing derbies, casting clinics, fish cleaning demonstrations and cooking
classes in conjunction with the free fishing Saturday and Sunday. A list of
sites offering special events for kids for the weekend is at

Indiana DNR says all other fishing regulations remain in effect for the
weekend.
The agency says children ages 17 and younger do not need a fishing license
at any time.
