Democratic Leader Scott Pelath, D-Michigan City, is part of a delegation led
by Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb that is going to Europe to attract potential
jobs and investments to the state.
The mission, which
runs through June 22, will see the Indiana group visit Hungary and France.
Pelath will be joining the governor and others in Paris, where the
delegation plans to meet with, among others, officials with Arconic, which
operates facilities in LaPorte.
“Our goal here is
to bring the world the message that Indiana is a place where businesses
should invest their money and create jobs,” Pelath said. “Economic
development is not a partisan issue. All of us want to see Hoosiers get and
retain good-paying jobs, and I am pleased to be joining the governor on this
mission to sell the world on Indiana.
”Indiana is a state
of great diversity -- economically, culturally, and geographically. Even
better, we each take great pride in different facets of our home. I am
gratified that our delegation will reflect enthusiasm for a wide array of
Indiana’s strengths as a business partner,” he said.
