FORT WAYNE,
Ind. (AP) — The death of a Fort Wayne man who was shot while riding his
bicycle more than 30 years ago has been ruled a homicide.
The Allen
County coroner's office said Wednesday that 53-year-old David Allan
Thornsley had died at St. Joseph Hospital in the northeast Indiana city.

Thornsley was 20 years old when he was shot while riding his bicycle in
Fort Wayne about 2 a.m. on July 10, 1980. Since then he had been a
paraplegic. He died from complications due to the gunshot wounds.
Thornsley was
shot twice in the back with a .22 caliber rifle.
Police had no
immediate suspects. Residents said they saw a white van speed away from
the area where Thornsley was shot.
