South Haven offers Warming Center

Back To Front Page

The South Haven Fire Department has established an emergency warming shelter at the fire station at 389 West 700 North (corner of McCool Rd and 700 North).

Residents of unincorporated Portage Township who are without heat or power are encouraged to seek shelter in the warming center. As temperatures continue to drop, dangerous conditions may exist for those without heat.

Residents are encouraged to check on each other as the temperatures drop. Please ensure to check on elderly neighbors and those with special needs.

Do not attempt to warm your home with improvised warming devices or by running your stove or range. If you find yourself in this situation, please get to a warming center.

If you are unable to get to the Fire Station, please contact Crazy Cab at 962-4949. Crazy Cab has graciously offered to help residents of unincorporated Portage Township to the warming center at the Fire Department.

Please keep up with the changing weather conditions and donít be afraid to ask for help if you need it.
