Back To Front Page

The view out back: As Chesterton Tribune staff members reported to work today they were greeted with the sight of flooded Coffee Creek Park. A flood warning was in effect Porter County and all of Northwest Indiana and Northeast Illinois. The Kankakee River was at flood stage today. Some county roads were temporarily closed due to washouts. Flooding also blocked parts of U.S. 20 near Michigan City and U.S. 231 in Crown Point. Duneland homes built in or near flood plains of creeks and rivers experienced flooded driveways.
