Shirley Heinze Land
Trust announced that it has received a generous pledge to its Capital
Campaign from Lakeside Wealth Management, of Chesterton.
The goal of the
organization’s campaign is to raise $3.5 million to advance the mission of
protecting important habitats and ecosystems across Northwest Indiana. Funds
raised will be used to protect an additional 500 acres of environmentally
significant land in the region and support efforts to restore and maintain
the 1,600 acres the organization already manages, along with promoting
conservation awareness through educational programs and increased access to
natural areas.
Tim Rice, President
of Lakeside Wealth, and Chip Mang, Chief Investment Officer, recently
stopped by the Meadowbrook Conservation Center offices of Shirley Heinze
Land Trust to present Executive Director Kristopher Krouse with a symbolic
check for the donation. “Lakeside understands the importance of Shirley
Heinze Land Trust and the services they provide to the communities we live
in. We are proud to support their efforts to protect the natural environment
and we’re excited to see the wonderful things they will do in the future,”
said Mang.
Krouse expressed
gratitude on behalf of the organization. “We are very grateful for this
support from Lakeside Wealth Management and other partners in the business
community. Their contribution demonstrates a common commitment to our vision
for a healthy and protected natural environment that adds to the quality of
life here in Northwest Indiana,” he said.
