Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore Superintendent Costa Dillon will hold four open forums this summer to answer questions and listen to public comments about the national park.

The first—and the most local one—will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at the Dorothy Buell Memorial Visitor Center, 1215 N. Ind. 49 in Porter.

The three other public forums:

•1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 9, at the Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk Site.

•1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at the Park Headquarters Meeting Room, 1100 N. Mineral Springs Road in Porter.

•10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, August 25, at the Paul H. Douglas Center for Environmental Education, on Lake Street in Miller.

This will be Dillon’s fourth year hosting these informal public meetings. “One of the great things about national parks is that we are places for the public to use and enjoy,” Dillon said. “We want to hear suggestions, ideas, and even complaints that will make the park a better place.”

No reservations are required to attend a forum. For more information, or directions to any of the forum sites, contact the national lakeshore’s information desk at (219) 395-1882 or check the park’s website at www.nps.gov/indu
