Dunes Action to meet Tuesday, November 15 at Library Service Center

Back To Front Page

Dunes Action will meet on Tuesday, November 15 at the Westchester Public Library Service Center, 100 Indiana Street, Chesterton. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Supporters will share information about the upcoming Natural Resources Commission meeting set for Nov. 29, at Oakwood Hall in Woodland Park, 2100 Willowcreek Road in Portage.

The Commission will be considering a rule revision to allow alcohol at Indiana Dunes State Park, a change which the public has consistently opposed.

Last year, over 500 people attended a meeting of the Porter County Alcoholic Beverage Board at the Porter County Expo Center to protest the issuance of a liquor license to Pavilion Partners, which plans to build a banquet center at Dunes State Park. That license was denied and the denial was later upheld by the state’s Alcohol and Tobacco Commission.

Dunes Action will share informational flyers, suggested talking points and other information at Tuesday’s meeting.

Dunes ACTION! is a grassroots, all-volunteer, non-partisan coalition. Find them on Facebook and at www.dunesaction.org
