Progress is continuing at the Westchester Migratory Bird Sanctuary with the recent delivery of a new gazebo. Project volunteers were excited to see the delivery of the gazebo on May 22.

The 12’ x 16’ new gazebo was donated by Bob and Becky Dunbar, of the Dunbar Family Foundation. The gazebo is on the north trail, framed by aspen trees and provides a great view of the wetlands and a sheltered place to take a rest and watch the birds. The gazebo will serve the bird sanctuary for a long time.

“The bird sanctuary and the community is fortunate to be the beneficiary of the Dunbar family support,” said Richard Maxey, sanctuary project manager. We extend a thank you to the Dunbar family for their support of the development of the bird sanctuary.

The bird sanctuary is a project of PorterCo Conservation Trust, Inc. a 501 c (3) organization. Volunteers are welcome most Saturday mornings 9 -12 p.m..

Help is needed to remove invasive plants, plant, water, mow, spread mulch, etc.

Donations are also needed and appreciated.

Please visit www.westchesterbird.org, or on Facebook at Westchester Migratory Bird Sanctuary, to donate or contact the organization.
