Watkins unseats Himan in Pine race

Republican challenger Tammy Marie Watkins unseated incumbent Democrat Andrew Himan Jr. by a razor-thin margin in the race for Pine Township Trustee.

Watkins beat Himan 581 votes to 565. Watkins won with 50.7 percent of the vote to Himanís 49.3 percent.

Pine Township Board

In the vote-for-three race for Pine Township Board, Democrat Joe Wagner took 518 votes; Democrat Matthew Smith, 444 votes; and Republican incumbent Margaret (Peggy) Richardson, 421 votes.

Coming in fourth and fifth respectively were Republican challenger Tom Carlson, with 387 votes; and Republican incumbent Tom Lipinski, with 381.
