Candidate filings have been slow for County races since the filing period opened last week but there have been two filings in the State Representative District 4 race.

Democrat Pam Mishler Fish filed Wednesday for the seat as Republican incumbent Ed Soliday filed later on Thursday.

Soliday has been the representative for the 4th District since first being elected in 2006. Fish is a former County official.

Meanwhile, Democrat Julia Jent will run for another six-year term as the Porter County Superior Court 3 Judge. No other candidate has filed so far in this year’s only Porter County Judge race.

The deadline to file for the May Democrat and Republican primary elections is Friday, Feb. 5 at noon.
