Back To Front Page

Porter County Prosecuting Attorney Brian Gensel is announcing that he will seek a fourth term in office.

Gensel released the following statement on Friday: “The criminal justice system in Porter County and the Porter County Prosecutor’s Office are well-respected in Northwest Indiana and throughout the entire state. As an executive board member of the federal High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) taskforce, I have developed strong relationships with local, federal, and state law enforcement agencies. The child support division of my office excels in holding parents financially accountable. My philosophy has always been that prosecutors and police should work together as a team to keep the citizens of Porter County safe. My dedicated senior prosecutor staff has over 100 years of combined experience. I believe that I have earned the trust of the citizens of Porter County and hope that I may continue to serve them as Prosecutor.”

Gensel previously served as Chief Deputy Prosecutor under former Prosecutor James Douglas in the latter’s 29th year in office.
