Porter County voter registration closes tonight

Voter registration in Indiana closes today.

Those who haven’t already registered must do so at the Porter County Clerk’s Office by the close of business today, or online by midnight.

Hoosiers can register to vote online by visiting

Hoosiers can also submit an application to register in person at their local county clerk’s office.

In addition to registration, allows Hoosiers to look up their polling place, get directions to their polling place, learn who’s on the ballot, request an absentee ballot, track their absentee ballot application, and contact local election officials.

To be eligible to vote, you must:

-- Be citizen of the U.S.

-- Be at least 18 years old on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3.

-- Have lived in your precinct for at least 30 days before the election.

-- And not be currently imprisoned after being convicted of a crime.
