Judge Jeffrey Thode
has announced his plan to seek re-election in 2018 to his fifth term on the
bench of Porter Superior Court 6.
Court 6 is a court of general jurisdiction handling both civil and criminal
cases. Since 1995, Thode has “presided over more than 240,000 cases and has
year to year consistently operated under budget resulting in thousands of
dollars in savings to Porter County residents,” according to a statement
released on Monday.
In 2016, at the
annual meeting of the Judicial Conference of Indiana, Thode was recognized
for his 24 years of outstanding service to the cause of justice as a
Judicial Officer of the State of Indiana. He formerly chaired the Indiana
Judicial Center Court Management Committee and currently sits on the Indiana
Office of Court Services’ Special Courts Committee.
Thode is also a
past president of the Porter County Bar Association and former Porter County
deputy prosecuting attorney and in 1994 was appointed to serve as Porter
County Probate Commissioner.
Thode has been
married to his wife Susan for 28 years and they have two adult children.
