The Northwest Indiana Forum hosted Democrat gubernatorial candidate John Gregg on Tuesday afternoon.

The Forum Board of Directors along with its membership had the opportunity to listen to Gregg explain his platform and its relevance to Northwest Indiana.

“The Northwest Indiana Forum takes policy positions on issues that its membership determines will have an effect on the development and creation of a strong globally competitive economy in Northwest Indiana,” the Forum said in a statement released on Wednesday. “The 2016 public policy agenda included the following: transportation infrastructure legislative improvements; protect economic development incentive programs; permanent funding request for Regional Cities Initiatives program; and the coalition for the improvement of U.S. 30.”

Questions for Gregg focused on education, economic development, and infrastructure in our region.

“We were very happy to organize John Gregg's visit with Northwest Indiana Businesses,” Forum President and CEO Heather Ennis said. “Making sure the candidates understand the legislative agenda driving Northwest Indiana is critically important to our future success. We will continue to build relationships with the leaders in Indianapolis for the benefit of the region and the state.”
