The Porter County
Democratic Central Committee is hosting "Ride the Blue Wave - Candidate Meet
& Greet" on Friday, April 20, from 7 to 9 p.m. at The Market in Valparaiso.
The event is open to the
public and will give voters a chance to meet candidates face to face. The
event will kick off with updates from Mark Lopez, Chief of Staff for U.S.
Rep. Peter Visclosky, Mike Lindburg, Political Director for Sen. Donnelly,
and Jim Harper, candidate for Secretary of State.
Attendees will have the
chance to meet face to face with current office holders running for
re-election, including State Rep. Chuck Moseley, Porter County Auditor Vicki
Urbanik, Debra Fray, Center Township Board, and first time candidates
Attorney Clay Patton for Porter Superior Court Judge, and Jessica Bailey,
candidate for Porter County Superior Court Clerk. Tickets of $30 may be

Morning Mandates is a
monthly networking group held on the second Wednesday, at 7:30 a.m., at The
Market in Valparaiso, and sponsored by the Porter County Democratic Central
Committee. The morning schedule will resume on Wednesday, May 11, at 7:30
a.m. when the speaker will be Anthony Lux, and Indiana Coalition for Public
Education board member and retired Superintendent of the Merrillville
Community School Corporation.
