On Saturday, October 6, the Chesterton High School Trojan Guard received a Gold rating with Visual Distinction for their performance at the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Scholastic Class Prelims competition hosted at Plymouth High School.

The Trojan Guard's performance was hard-fought through rainy conditions, competing against top schools such as Lafayette Jefferson, LaPorte, and Lowell.

For the Trojan Guard to earn their highest score of the season and qualify for state finals with distinction in poor weather just proves the hard work our students have put forth and their dedication to the season, said Band Director Adam Bess following the performance.

With a gold rating, the Trojan Guard qualified for ISSMA Scholastic State Finals and will perform on October 20at Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis, IN.
