Three Chesterton High School seniors have been named National
Merit Scholars by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
Tom J. Biel has received the National Merit $2,500 Scholarship. This
scholarship is underwritten by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation
with its own funds. Biel plans to study biomedical engineering at Purdue
University. He is the son of Tom and Claudia Biel of Chesterton.
Ryan A. Gorman has received a college-sponsored Merit Scholarship through
the National Merit University of Alabama. Gorman plans to study Chemical
Engineering and Business at University of Alabama. He is the son of Gary and
Viki Gorman of Chesterton.
Brian T. Mabry has received a corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship through
the National Merit BP Foundation, Inc. Mabry plans to study engineering at
Purdue. He is the son of Keith and Roberta Mabry of Chesterton.
