St. Patrick Science Olympiad teams do well at regional competition

St. Patrick School sent two Science Olympiad Teams to the regional competition held at Indiana University Northwest on Saturday, February 25. St. Patrick Team 1 placed 4th of the 17 Middle School teams that competed and placed 1st in their division (Class A) and qualified to move on to the Statewide Science Olympiad Competition, which will be held at Indiana University in Bloomington on March 18. Both Team 1 and Team 2 performed well and took home many individual event medals including: Bridget Raffin and Vincent Raffin, 1st Place in Write It-Do It, and Kyle Gregurich and Ayden Nation, 1st Place in WiFi Lab.

Second place winners were Danny Herr and Peter McNicholas in Mission Possible, Molly Hadenfelt and Christian McDaniel in WiFi Lab, and Ayden Nation and Devin Singh in Potions and Poisons.

Third place winners were Peter McNicholas and Devin Singh in Road Scholar, Giana Raffin and Rachel Cohen in Dynamic Planet, Sophia Raffin and Danielle Plinovich in Towers, Chris Huseman and Ashleigh Spencer in Mystery Design, Saanya Agarwal and Allison Fry in Anatomy & Physiology, Anthony McCrovitz and Josiah Miller in Hovercraft, Aidan Moran, Sophia Raffin and Danielle Plinovich in Experimental Design, and Bethany House and Sophia Raffin in Meteorology.

Fourth place winners were Ella Gage and Bethany House in Dynamic Planet, Adam Burroughs and Madeline Rearick in Ecology, Danny Herr and Aidan Moran in Mystery Design, Aidan Moran and Ayden Nation in Crime Busters, Chris Huseman and Olivia Jaworski in Scrambler, Danielle Plinovich and Katelyn Dixon in Food Science, and Peter McNicholas and Madeline Rearick in Invasive Species.
