School Board considers reentry plan Monday

The Duneland School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, July 13 at the Chesterton Middle School auditorium, 651 W. Morgan Avenue, Chesterton.

The public is welcome to attend with its comments and questions. Attendees will be required to wear masks, and masks will be provided for those who do not bring their own. Social distancing will be practiced when possible in accordance with State and County reopening guidelines, according to the agenda.

The biggest item on the agenda is approval of the Duneland Schools Reentry Plan draft that was sent to parents and staff on July 1.

The Board will also consider the 2020-2021 teacher evaluation plan, 2021 CHS curricular fees, the 2020-2021 administrator handbook and classified support staff handbook, DSC insurance renewal, a reauthorization of the Investment of Public Funds policy and related business, new policies on face coverings and remote learning expectations, and various policy updates.

The Board will also recognize the Duneland Teacherís Association, the athletic director of the year, and the Chesterton High School class of 2020. The Board will hear presentations on the reopening plan, the return to athletics, and a presentation from Jackson Elementary School.
