Not sure what the
referendum for Duneland Schools is all about? Want to find out more?
Alayna Lightfoot
Pol, newly elected Duneland School Board member, will host a Referendum Chat
and Play at the Duneland Boys and Girls Club, 521 W. 1100N in Chesterton
during the scheduled Duneland Schools’ spring break, March 25-29.
The Referendum Chat
and Play will be for families of students in grades K-6 and will be hosted
from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday through Friday.
“There are many (Duneland
School) parents in the community who are just not sure what the referendum
is all about,” said Lightfoot Pol. “I would like to take the opportunity to
help explain and answer any questions for parents in a casual environment
where they can easily bring their children. Parents will receive important
information about the referendum that will undoubtedly have a significant
impact on their children’s schooling experience. I encourage DSC families to
attend and bring a friend.”
The Duneland Boys
and Girls Club has offered Lightfoot Pol the gym and rec room for children
in grades K-6 who are attending one of the five scheduled Referendum Chat
and Play with their parent(s). Duneland Club volunteers will also be
available to watch attendees’ children while parents engage in conversations
with Lightfoot Pol about the upcoming election on May 7 and the referendum
in question. So pick a day and come to learn more about the referendum while
your kids have some fun with their friends.
