New Dunbar Scholarship for CHS seniors

Back To Front Page

The Duneland Education Foundation (DEF) is announcing that, beginning in the fall of 2018, it will administer a $5,000 scholarship to be given to one Chesterton High School senior annually.

This scholarship is intended for a student with financial need who meets certain minimal grade criteria and shows evidence of a strong work ethic. Applications for the scholarship will be accepted through Chesterton High School.

“This exciting opportunity is made possible through a generous gift from the Dunbar Family Foundation,” DEF said. “The Duneland Education Foundation thanks the Dunbar Family Foundation for its continuing generosity to the foundation and the Duneland community as a whole.”

Throughout the year, directors of the Duneland Education Foundation work with Duneland educators, administrators, community members, and businesses to share the story of the DEF and to increase grant opportunities for Duneland educators. The DEF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides financial resources to enhance opportunities for educational experiences for all K-12 students of the Duneland community.

To assist the DEF in promoting its mission of improving educational opportunities for Duneland students, please contact its Executive Director, Dr. Allison Kroft, at director@dunelandeducation.org or at (219) 983-3715.
