Duneland Schools to make up March 12 snow day on Saturday, April 5

Back To Front Page

The Duneland School Corporation will make up the March 12 snow day on Saturday, April 5, 2014.

The objective is to make up lost instructional time for students as soon as possible, satisfy state requirements for instructional time and, avoid any change to the high school’s graduation ceremony.

Superintendent Dr. David Pruis stated that issues/conflicts do arise any time the school calendar is altered. Given the number of school delays and cancellations experienced throughout the state this year, Duneland students, parents, teachers and staff members have remained flexible and steadfast in their efforts to continue the education process. The understanding and cooperation of all those involved in making up instructional time is greatly appreciated.

Some may recall the Corporation also used a Saturday to make up a snow day in April 2009. Earlier both Union Township School Corporation and Valparaiso Community Schools announced that their schools will be open and classes will be in session on April 5, 2014.
