The Duneland
Education Foundation will kick off the Annual $10,000 Scholarship Raffle at
the Chesterton High School Varsity boys basketball game today Friday,
January 25. Raffle tickets will be sold before the game and everyone that
buys a ticket has a chance to shoot a half court shot during half-time for a
chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card. Each raffle ticket is $25.
The Duneland
Education is a non-for profit organization that has provided support to
Duneland schools since 1995. Over the years, the DEF has provided hundreds
of thousands of dollars in financial support for school projects, programs
and equipment, where there has been a shortfall in government funding.
Tickets will be
sold until 5:00 p.m. Friday, April 26, the day of DEF’s Annual Gala. Tickets
may be purchased from a DEF Board member or at the main branch of the Porter
Bank in Porter. For further information contact DEF Executive Director
Colleen Grimes at cgrimes@dunelandeducation.org.
The winner of the
$10,000 Scholarship will be announced at DEF’s Annual Gala on Friday, April
26, at The Spa Special Events Center in Porter, from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m.,
featuring the band Dave and Rae. The Gala is DEF’s most important fundraiser
of the year and all are encouraged to attend and show their support for DEF
and all the Duneland Schools.
