Three Chesterton High School Choral Music program students took their vocal talents to the ISSMA (Indiana State School Music Association) State Solo/Ensemble Contest and returned home with gold medals, as well as earning with distinction honors for their outstanding musicianship.

The three state solo gold medal winners are sophomore Lauren Bolla, junior Brianna Condes and senior Joshua Sweet. These students qualified for state by achieving a gold medal score at District Solo and Ensemble Contest on Saturday, February 1, at Valparaiso High School.

"I am extremely proud of how hard these students worked to prepare for success. Each of these students take private vocal lessons year-round and continue to improve as singers," said CHS Choral Director Kristin Morris.
