The Chesterton High School Music Department will once again be presenting the “Big Band Bash” dance featuring the award winning CHS Jazz Band under the direction of Michael Scheiber on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 29 and 30.

New this year is the change of venue. This year the 2010 Bash will take place at the Banquet Center of the WaterBird Lakeside Inn, 556 Indian Boundary Road, Chesterton.

Music and dancing will begin at 7:00 p.m. The unique idea of presenting a nostalgic dance reminiscent of the 30’s and 40’s was conceived by the jazz students at CHS.

The audience attending the “Big Band Bash” will dance to many of the original arrangements of the “Big Bands” including the music of Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Stan Kenton, Bob Crosby, Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Les Brown, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman and others.

All seats are reserved and tickets are on sale at both the CHS Music Dept. and at the WaterBird Lakeside Inn through Thursday, Jan. 28.

Also, new this year, the ticket price includes a pasta buffet with salad, Italian bread and beverage. Ticket cost is $20 each OR $18 each when four or more tickets are purchased. Tickets are available at the CHS Music Office at Main Entrance #1 weekdays from 7:30 a.m.-Noon and from 1:00-4:00 p.m. No tickets will be sold at the door.

For more information, please contact the CHS Music Department at 983-3730, ext. 7147 or the WaterBird Lakeside Inn at 1-888-987-2473.
