Back To Front Page

Aki Tsugawa, Japanese teacher for the Duneland School Corporation with classes at Chesterton Middle and High School, has been named the “Indiana Foreign Language Teachers Association (IFLTA) Best of Indiana.”

The voting members attending the 2013 Fall Conference nominated Tsugawa after her presentation of an instructional technology entitled, “iMovie 101.” The session, presented in both English and Japanese (with examples in both languages) explains how the proper use of technology facilitates target language use and improves student participation by encouraging teachers to make their own iMovies with their iPad to assist with teaching in the classroom.

Tsugawa will represent the State of Indiana at the Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages in Minneapolis, Minn., in the spring of 2015.
