At its meeting Monday night the Duneland School Board voted 5-0 to approve a
4.5-percent increase in the salaries of administrative staff.
The 2008-09 base salaries:
•Superintendent Dirk Baer, $128,450. Three-year contract, 260 contract days.
•Assistant Superintendent Dave Pruis, $113,400. Three-year contract, 260
contract days.
•Assistant Superintendent Monte Moffett, $107,150. Three-year contract, 260
contract days.
•Business Manager Bonnie Gaston, $62,700. Two-year contract, 260 contract
days.
•Director of Special Services Mark McKibben, $91,450. Two-year contract, 260
contract days.
•CHS Principal J. Goetz, $105,550. Two-year contract, 260 contract days.
•CHS Assistant Principal J. VanDrie, $88,350. Two-year contract, 210 contract
days.
•CHS Assistant Principal S. Longacre, $85,900. Two-year contract, 210
contract days.
•CHS Assistant Principal K. Zeck, $80,000. Two-year contract, 210 contract
days.
•Director of the Alternate Learning Center E. Chaddock, $76,400. Two-year
contract, 205 contract days.
•LIS Principal G. Guernsey, $86,500. Two-year contract, 210 contract days.

School Lunch
Price Increase
In other business, the board voted 5-0 to increase the daily price of school
lunches:
•At the elementary and intermediate schools, from $1.85 to $2.00, an increase
of 15 cents or around 8 percent.
•At CMS and CHS, from $1.95 to $2.20, an increase of 25 cents or around 13
percent.
•Teachers’ lunches, from $2.65 to $2.95, an increase of 30 cents or around 11
percent.
Prior to the vote Baer noted that the daily price of school lunches has
remained unchanged for five years.
Textbook and Instructional Fees
The board also voted to approve the schedule of textbook rental and
instructional fees for 2008-09.
Total fees for K-6: K, $100; 1st, $150; 2nd, $137; 3rd, $123; 4th, $123; 5th,
$125; and 6th, $125.
Total fees for English, math, science, and history/geography for 7-8: 7th,
$86.20; 8th, $90.04. Those amounts do not include textbook rental and
instructional fees for other courses, like art, general music, keyboarding,
orchestra, and the like.
At CHS, by way of example, the textbook rental for English 11 C & T will run
$51.84; one for Accounting, $55.90; for Chemistry, $38.12; for German 3,
$28.52; for Geometry GT, $7.60; for U.S. History AP, $21.28; for Building
Trades, $31.55.
