Frontline Foundations is calling all artists to participate in both youth and adult chalk art competitions at its seventh annual Hooked on Art Festival on Saturday, Sept. 22.

Youth contestants (12-17) will compete for the chance to win a trophy and a $250 Blick art supplies gift certificate while adult contestants (18+) will compete for up to $1,000 in cash prizes to be judged based on audience engagement, creativity, quality, and originality.

Adult competitors are required to pay $25 to compete while youth competitors apply for free. All applications are due Tuesday, Sept. 4. Artists may register at or contact Frontline Foundations at (219) 728-1638.

The family-friendly Hooked on Art Festival will be held once again at Thomas Centennial Park from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. In conjunction with the European Market, Hooked on Art features 3D chalk art demos, live street art, interactive kidsí activities, live music, unique food dishes, and a silent auction of Frontline client artwork.

Proceeds from the event go to providing substance abuse treatment to men and women who are unable to afford treatment. Frontline Foundations serves to be a source of hope to men and women suffering from drug and alcohol abuse by providing an effective treatment and recovery support system.
