A staff member at
Yost Elementary School tested positive for COVID-19 this morning, the
Duneland School Corporation (DSC) is reporting.
in consultation with the Porter County Health Department, has conducted
contact tracing measures for this person, and all those who were in close
contact (within six feet for 15 minutes or longer) have been notified
directly, DSC said.
"Please be aware
that privacy laws, including HIPAA and FERPA, prevent us from sharing
further information regarding students and staff," DSC added.

According to the
Chesterton Tribune's records, nine DSC students or staffers have tested
positive for COVID-19 since classes began:
-- Sept. 3: one
Liberty Elementary student.
-- Sept. 11: one
Chesterton High School student; and two Bailly Elementary students.
-- Sept. 14: one
-- Sept. 15: one
Liberty Intermediate staffer.
-- Sept. 16: two
CHS students; and one LIS staffer.
-- Today: one Yost
