Duneland Family YMCA is excited to welcome swimmers back for the summer season! Membership or no membership, the Y wants to be a part of your summer. The pool will be available to the public for open swimming each week on Sunday from noon until 4 p.m.; Monday from 7-9 a.m., 10-11 a.m., and noon-5 p.m.; Tuesday from 7-9 a.m., noon until 4:45 p.m., and 6-8 p.m.; Wednesday from noon until 5 p.m.; Thursday from 7-9 a.m., 10 a.m. until 4:45 p.m., and 6-8 p.m.; Friday from noon until 8 p.m.; and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Limited area open swim is available at other times while swimming lessons are in session.

The Duneland Family YMCA takes swim lesson instruction very seriously with Lake Michigan, the second largest fresh water lake in the U.S., located only three miles away.

The Y has a swim lesson program that's right for your child. Lessons are scheduled at various times Monday through Saturday for all youth levels. Class sizes are limited to ensure the best teaching outcomes for each child. To help with class selection, download a Pool Schedule at www.dunelandymca.org/schedules or stop by the Y Front Desk and pick up a copy. Swimming lessons for adults and private lessons are available by appointment.

Registration is open now through June 23 for the mid-summer swim lesson session at www.dunelandymca.org/online-registration, or at the Y Welcome Center. Lessons start July 1 and continue through July 28.

All of the Y's lifeguards are CPR, First AID, AED, ASHI and American Red Cross certified to ensure a safe swimming experience for the whole community. "All lifeguards are hired and ready to supervise the fun activities at the pool. So, come join the fun!" said Jacob Kasarda, Aquatics Coordinator.

For more information about the open swim, lessons or any other summer aquatic programs, contact Jacob Kasarda at 926-4204 or jkasarda@dunelandymca.org.

The Duneland Family YMCA, at 215 Roosevelt St., Chesterton, is a charitable nonprofit focusing on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
