Back To Front Page

Engage your family and celebrate National Healthy Families Week May 15 - May 21. The Duneland Family YMCA challenges families to engage in recreation together by competing in the Y's first Healthy Families Scavenger Hunt within the Duneland community.

Families will have one week to complete the scavenger hunt activities card. Local businesses will host several of the activities and will award the family with a sticker to verify the activity has been completed. Other activities can be verified by an adult family member's signature on the activity card.

Participating locations for Healthy Families Week are: Peggy Sue's Diner, First State Bank of Porter, Coffee Creek Watershed Conservancy, Team O'Connor Martial Arts & Fitness, Duneland Chamber of Commerce, Indiana Dunes Tourism, Duneland Resale, Chesterton Police and Fire Departments, 7 Peaks Fun Center and the Community Wellness Nurse at Duneland Family YMCA.

Download an activity card and rules sheet on Thursday, May 15, at www.dunelandymca.org or pick them up at the Duneland Family YMCA Front Desk, 215 Roosevelt St., Chesterton, on Thursday, May 15.

Return filled in activities cards to the Front Desk no later than 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 21. If families complete the scavenger hunt earlier, they should turn their activities card in right away. All entries will be dated and time stamped when they are received. Fantastic prizes will be awarded based on the date and time activities cards are received.
