Quality childcare is a top priority at the Duneland Family YMCA, and is
achieved by providing children with creative learning experiences to help

Peggy Nowicki, owner of Peggy Sue’s Diner, recently wrote about her two
year-old daughter's experience. “My daughter, Riley, has been in the
2-year-old room for 10 months. Riley has learned so much since being there.
She amazes me every day with her knowledge. Each day they work on different
letters and their sounds. Riley is often singing ‘the A says AHH.’ She can
say her ABCs and also recognizes most of them. She also knows all her shapes
and colors -- purple is her favorite this week. And she is so proud to draw
a circle. She's learning her manners, too, and often quotes ‘Please and
thank you are your manners’.”
“I love the two year-old room for many other reasons also. They were a
huge part in Riley's potty training. I think it's safe to say we are now
trained, but it took some time and a lot of patience from the preschool
staff, and they were very encouraging to both Riley and me. I tell my
friends when they’re looking for a preschool how much I love the YMCA. My
son William, now 6, was enrolled there also. I feel safe and proud that my
children have gotten to enjoy all the Early Childhood Development program
has to offer,” Nowicki said.
